Key Information Document

From April 2020 employment businesses must provide temporary workers with a Key Information Document (KID). This should set out clearly the essential information a work seeker requires prior to agreeing terms with the employment business and starting an assignment. The key information document is intended to improve transparency of information for agency workers, particularly around pay. It will give agency workers more immediate access to key pay related information before agreeing terms with the employment business and a clear idea of how any fees and deductions will affect their pay.

The regulation does not apply to agency workers with existing terms with an employment business.

The Employment Agency Standards (EAS) Inspectorate is the government authority responsible for the enforcement of certain agency worker rights. You can raise concern with them directly on 020 7215 5000 or through Acas helpline on 0300 123 1100, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
